1. If I'm new to the Papers and don't know the family, where do I begin to learn about Izola Forrester, her family and her family papers?
Answer: Start by reading the Overview and looking over the box descriptions. Next read Ros Putnam's short autobiography, "Fruits of Love" in Box 36. Another very important book is "This One Mad Act" by Izola Forrester. Both books include a lot of family history. There are additional autobiographical sketches of Izola Forrester in Box #1 and her autobiographical sketch "A Child Actress of the '80s" published in the Saturday Evening Post found in Box 37 is excellent. The 1991 Reunion Book (The Orange Book) contains brief one or two page biographies of many people in the family. Finally, Sigurd Østrem's "Who's Who" is a good place to look up names and relationships. JP 9 Dec 2005
